Tenting in THE WOODS ...

Camp Eaton has evolved from tent sites in an open field and rental cabins in the 1930’s to the present mix of seasonal trailer sites, short term trailer/R.V. sites and tent camping in the “Woods”. Throughout our 83-year history our family has had to make difficult decisions concerning what type of camping we wish to provide and where on the grounds we wish to provide it.

It was with mixed emotions that this past season we stopped offering the “Woods” for camping. The “Woods” area of our property is being transformed into a recreational area for our seasonal and short-term trailer/R.V. site campers. This big change will allow us to upgrade and consolidate our existing recreational facilities (basketball court, sports field, playground, horseshoe pits, etc.) in one area. It will also provide us space to add new facilities (pavilion, picnic area, dog park, etc.).

Our excitement for these new recreational facilities is tempered by the loss of your patronage as tenters and pop-up campers in the “Woods”. We hope you will consider joining us as a seasonal or short term trailer/R.V. camper in the future.
